We make the picture heard.
A two-person accessibility company. We produce audio description and captions for film and digitally restore the picture and sound underneath them, through Tape Territory, and we build Dress Aloud, which tells blind and low-vision shoppers how clothes will look on them before they buy. Everything on this page is live.
What we run
Proof, before promises.
A studio our size usually shows you a wall of client logos. We would rather show you things we own and operate, where the uptime, the licensing and the support burden land on us.
Our audio description studio, with a free catalog in front of it: twenty-seven public domain films we have digitally restored and audio described, free to watch with no account and no ads. The same work is for hire — description and captions for features, shorts and trailers at published rates, with files you own outright. Tape Territory is a listed provider in the American Council of the Blind’s Audio Description Project directory.
tapeterritory.com →Honest virtual try-on for blind and low-vision shoppers. Dress Aloud tells you, in plain spoken language, how a garment will look and fit on you before you buy — and it will not state a measurement it cannot back up. On the web, Android, Windows, Chrome and Edge. Patent pending.

What we are actually good at.
The same two people do all of it. Nothing is handed to a subcontractor, and nothing gets lost in the gap between vendors.
Audio description
Description for film, television and trailers. Scripts are drafted by AI from the picture, then reviewed and signed off by a person; every line is placed in a real gap in the dialogue, and the mix is checked by an audio engineer.
Captions
Verbatim captions delivered as WebVTT and SRT alongside the description, so one order covers both of the things an accessibility requirement usually asks for.
Digital restoration
Picture cleanup and audio repair on degraded and archival material — noise, hum, damage, unstable transfers — done digitally, so the description sits on a print worth watching.
Accessible products
Software built screen-reader first for blind and low-vision people, not adapted for them afterwards. Dress Aloud is the first, and it ships on five platforms.
AI that does a job
Practical automation built around a real workflow — intake, document handling, search, review — including records and permitting tooling for public agencies. The unglamorous part that takes a week out of someone’s month, not a demo.
Streaming & media infrastructure
Catalog systems, verified playback and delivery, built and run ourselves: every Tape Territory title is checked to actually play before it is published.
How we work
We find solutions. We do not have problems.
That is not a line about optimism. It is how we take work on. When something in scope turns out to be harder than anyone expected, it is ours to absorb and solve — not yours to hear about. You get told what changed, what we did, and what it means for the date.
Being two people is deliberate. You talk to the people doing the work, decisions take hours instead of weeks, and there is no account layer sitting between your question and the answer.
Who you work with
Two people, both building.
Principal
Leads the company and the audio work. Runs Tape Territory and Dress Aloud day to day, reviews every description before it ships, and has been recording and mixing since 2001 and mastering for twenty years, with his own commercial studio, The Hitbox.
Principal
Leads production and development. Focused on the pipeline that turns an idea into something shipped: tooling, media production, and the systems underneath.
How it starts
No mystery, no runway.
You are not committing to anything by getting in touch. Here is exactly what happens, so you know what you are agreeing to before you agree to it.
A conversation
Half an hour, no charge, no deck. You describe the outcome you need. We ask awkward questions and tell you plainly if we are not the right people — which happens, and saying so early is cheaper for everyone.
A written scope and a fixed price
What we will build, what it costs, what it does not include, and the date. One page, in plain language. If we cannot describe it that clearly, we do not understand it well enough to quote it.
Work you can see
Delivered in increments you can look at and use, not a silence ending in a reveal. You always know what is done, what is next, and whether the date still holds.
